For those of you who have challenges getting my Chinese name (&#8220;Shun Jian&#8221;) right, you can now address me by my Christian name, <strong>David<\/strong> (meaning: &#8220;Beloved&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-127\" src=\"http:\/\/101powerfulaffirmations.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Water-Baptism.jpg\" alt=\"Water Baptism\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"http:\/\/101powerfulaffirmations.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Water-Baptism.jpg 500w, http:\/\/101powerfulaffirmations.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Water-Baptism-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/101powerfulaffirmations.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Water-Baptism-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Today I'm going to bless you with some powerful revelations on one of the most famous verses in the bible &#8211; Psalm 23:1. I trust that this will help you with your bible study and teach you how to feed on God's Word even more effectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Psalm 23:1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The <em>Lord<\/em> is my shepherd; I shall not want.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Many times, when we read the bible, we don't take enough time to chew on God's Word. It's a reflection of the times we live in&#8230; where we just gobble up our food without properly chewing them into bite-sized pieces. This makes it harder for us to fully digest what we eat and to soak up all the wonderful nutrients our body needs.<\/p>\n<p>If you feed on Psalm 23:1 slowly, you will realize that there are so many golden nuggets of blessings waiting to be uncovered&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is your shepherd?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It's none other than The Lord himself&#8230; <em>The LORD who is the everlasting God, the creator of the whole earth<\/em> (Isaiah 40:28). When you know whose sheep you belong to, you will not fear the enemy because <em>at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth!<\/em> (Philippians 2:10)<\/p>\n<p><strong>When is He your shepherd?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now and continuously forevermore&#8230; notice the tense that's being used&#8230; <strong>IS<\/strong>. The verse doesn't say&#8230; &#8220;The Lord was&#8230;&#8221;, It says &#8220;The Lord IS&#8230;&#8221; No matter what season you are in now, The Lord IS your shepherd. <em>He will never leave you nor forsake you&#8230;<\/em> (Deuteronomy 31:6; Hebrews 13:5)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whose shepherd is He?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He is <strong>YOUR<\/strong> shepherd. Look at how personal our Lord is&#8230; Today although there are over 2 billion Christians in the world, God is still ultimately interested in building a personal relationship with you and me. <em>He calls you by name and you are His<\/em> (Isaiah 43:1). You are not just a faceless name in the crowd. You are His beloved sheep!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is He?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He is your <strong>SHEPHERD<\/strong>. He is your provider. He is your protector. He will take good care of you&#8230; so why, oh why, would you ever want to continue to worry or fear about the future?<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the consequence of The Lord being your shepherd?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You shall not want (which means you shall not lack). When you have The Lord in your life, <em>you shall have life and life more abundantly<\/em> (John 10:10). <em>So don't worry about these things, saying, &#8216;What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?
