A few years ago, when I was still a baby Christian, I started reading the Bible from Genesis and had to stop halfway through the old testament as I couldn't fathom the portrayal of my God as someone that's so full of wrath…
So I skipped all the way to the new testament where I learned about God's Grace, goodness and love and I got confused and wondered if the Bible was referring to the same God all along!
Well now I know better and if you've been struggling with the same challenges I had in understanding and interpreting the Bible, this would probably be one of the most important posts you'd ever read…
You see, there was in fact a time (during the old testament) when God was angry because He is after all a Holy God and His Wrath is a just, divine response to human sin and disobedience.
But everything changed when He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins…
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
At the cross, the divine exchange happened…
2 Corinthians 5:21
“God made Him (Christ) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Jesus took on all of God's wrath and judgment and was punished for ALL our sins (past, present and future) so that by His death and resurrection, we can boldly come forward to His throne of Grace, as righteous children of God, to freely receive all of His abundant Blessings!
And if that were not clear enough, the bible reassures us in Isaiah 54:9-10 that…
“For this is like the days of Noah to Me, when I swore that the waters of Noah would not flood the earth again; So I have sworn that I will not be angry with you nor will I rebuke you. “For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” says the LORD who has compassion on you.”
Wow!
Now why is it important for you to receive this powerful revelation that God is no longer angry with you?
Because even today, there are still believers who live in bondage according to the erroneous belief that God is still angry with them and that He is always looking to catch them when they fall short and punish them…
This can't be further from the truth!
Remember, it's not about what you and I did or do, it's all about what Christ has done for you and I on the cross…
Romans 8:1
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
God is no longer angry with you and does not condemn you anymore so why should you continue to condemn and punish yourself?
Beloved, are you ready to break free from your bondage of wrong belief right now and start freely receiving all the amazing, wonderful blessings He has in store for you?
Type AMEN (in the comments below) Now…
I trust that my message today has blessed you. Feel free to share this post with your friends, family and loved ones to bless them too… =)
